Thanks for your interest in the SF F1 Meetup Group!

***If you are new to the group, please email Julie at fripouille2010@hotmail.com with your phone number and name for location details***

Disregard the 'no location chosen' note below.

This event is BYO, and there are several places nearby to get a bite to eat.

A close race for the Constructor's Title has kept F1 fans everywhere waiting until the last Grand Prix this year as Renault goes into the final race just two points ahead of McLaren in the standings. Anything's possible given the nature of these two teams and drivers.

While the McLaren's have certainly been quicker, reliability has been a issue, and engine failures have cost Kimi his chance at the Driver's Championship this season. Some of Kimi's struggle has been due to this year's introduction of a two race engine rule, and this weekend's GP may see some effects of the new rule play a part in the deciding race for the Constructor's Championship.

Suzuka saw a hard fought race with Kimi's newly-changed engine taking some punishing laps as he fought to overcome his position at the rear of the grid, and he'll have to use this same engine in Shanghai to avoid another grid penalty. Montoya will be running a new engine as scheduled. However, both Renaults will be running an improved and updated spec "RS25E" engine, fresh for their final race this season, and that could make the difference this season - stop by and watch the race with us this weekend!

We've been invited to Go Kart Racer in Burlingame for the Japanese GP. They've fixed their big screen projector and it's a sharp picture now, not that we really needed it so much for the USGP, but hey, it's in much better working order.

We'll be meeting on a Saturday night instead of a Sunday morning, so there's plenty of time to arrive before the race and do some karting. We can organize an F1 meetup group race for our members, with about 10 out on the track at a time and we would need to make reservations for our race early that week. I would suggest a group race time of 8:30 pm, and a check-in time for 1st time karters at 8:00pm. You can also jump in with the crowd that's there and race.

There won't be any drinking allowed at the track, unfortunately, but the race coverage will be over by midnight, so we can make plans afterwards to go out if there's interest.

Any suggestion, please email me..

Who would have thought a few years ago
that there would be a race in Turkey!!

... what will this new GP hold for us... excitement?!?!

Well.... i am sure that more then ever now... excitement for the world championship is high!!!

... Kimi has finally been able to finish a race and brilliantly earn 10 point... which is making it plausible to dream for a 2005 title... But will our “my” Spanish boy give up that easily?!?!

My bet it NO.... lets get all together for excitement and emotion after this 2 weeks of well deserved of vacation...

HAVE FUN... and see you soon ;))))

Here we go! The F1 circus moves to France, and Michelin is on their home turf for this one! Sources say they've gotten their act together this time, but the non-event coverage from Indy has been quite interesting in the meantime . . .

Thanks to everyone who showed up at the last meetup for a day of karting, basically! We've been invited back to the track for future meetups, so no worries if you didn't make it out last time!

The French GP pre-race coverage starts at 9:30 AM, flag drops at 10. Julie, our organizer, has been travelling recently and this will be her first time back with the gang, so welcome back, Juju!
